Berlin luthier Leonardo Lospennato builds electric guitars and basses in distinctive shapes — templates, pickguards and trim parts are made at Formulor.
Leo Lospennato is a luthier, author and teacher: his Berlin workshop produces one-of-a-kind electric guitars and basses, and he writes books and teaches courses on instrument making. His designs range from art-deco shapes to a heart-shaped guitar.
He has been ordering from Formulor for years: templates and contour parts from birch plywood, pickguards and trim from black, white or transparent acrylic — from wafer-thin 0.8 mm sheets to 3 mm plates in the large format.
The laser complements the handwork: precisely repeatable contours for parts that must fit the instrument — and the freedom to test every new shape as an inexpensive template first.
