What you get

  • Glossy laser edge

The laser melts the cut edge smooth. With acrylic, this gives a clear, glossy edge without burrs – no finishing needed.

  • True to size

We compensate for the laser's cutting width. Your part has the dimensions you enter.

  • Any shape

Rectangle with corner radius, circle, ring, oval, polygon, semicircle, heart or star – and your own drawing in the Modeller.

  • Holes in the same go

Holes in the corners, at the top or in the centre, 2 to 12 mm – the laser cuts them in the same pass. In the configurator you place them freely.

  • From one piece

No minimum order value. The unit price drops automatically with quantity, up to 999 pieces per order line.

  • From our workshop

Cut in our workshop in Pfinztal, checked by people, well packed and shipped with DHL.

Types of acrylic

66 variants: clear, coloured, satin, fluorescent, mirrored and two-colour – cast (GS) or extruded (XT).

Guide: having acrylic cut to size

GS or XT?

Cast acrylic (GS) is harder, engraves with high contrast and can be bonded with little stress. Extruded acrylic (XT) is cheaper and more even in thickness. XT is enough for panes and covers; for engraving and signs, choose GS.

The edge

On acrylic the laser leaves a glossy edge, clear and without burrs. On thick sheets it is very slightly angled, because the beam widens towards the underside.

Size and tolerance

The contour has the dimensions you enter; we compensate for the cutting width. Sheet thickness varies from the manufacturing process – more with cast acrylic than with extruded. For fits with tight clearance there is precision acrylic.

Holes and spacing

The laser cuts holes in the same pass, as round as drilled ones – from 2 to 12 mm. A web remains between hole and edge, at least 6 mm for 3 mm material – otherwise the acrylic breaks. The calculator checks this for you.

Bonding

You bond acrylic with acrylic adhesive. Laser edges are under stress: with solvent-based adhesive, extruded acrylic in particular tends to develop fine cracks; cast acrylic (GS) copes better.

Cleaning

With water, a little washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. No alcohol and no glass cleaner containing spirit – it makes acrylic crack.

Outdoors

Acrylic is UV-resistant and does not yellow. For outdoor signs and house numbers, 3 to 5 mm cast acrylic has proven itself.

Frequently asked questions about acrylic cut to size

How large can a cut piece be?

Up to 780 × 374 mm in one piece. If the material is in stock in the large workshop format, up to 890 × 440 mm is possible – the calculator tells you. At least 20 mm; you split larger areas into tiles in the Modeller.

Which thicknesses are available?

From 0.5 to 8 mm, depending on type and colour. The material picker in the calculator shows which thicknesses a colour comes in.

What does the cut edge look like?

Glossy and clear. The laser melts the edge smooth while cutting – no polishing needed.

How accurate is the cut?

The contour matches the dimensions you enter; we compensate for the laser's cutting width. The sheet thickness has the manufacturer's tolerance.

Can I order holes as well?

Yes. In the calculator in the corners, at the top or in the centre; in the configurator placed freely. Diameter 2 to 12 mm.

Is there a minimum order value?
