The business card you tap

Digital consultant Natascha Buck combines a laser-made acrylic business card with an NFC tag — hold it to a phone, save the contact, be remembered.

The idea: a business card nobody throws away. Natascha Buck had her card cut from pink acrylic in her brand colour, engraved on the front with portrait, name and logo. A flat NFC tag sits on the back: holding a smartphone to the card opens a landing page with contact details, LinkedIn profile and downloads.

The card was made at Formulor from pink cast acrylic, 3 mm thick, from her own EPS file on a P1-format sheet. Cut edges and engraving come from the same pass — sturdy enough for everyday use on a lanyard.

She describes step by step how to design such a card in her blog — including preparing the file for laser cutting.
