Retro electronics by VEEB
Martin Spendiff and Vanessa Bradley build electronics with character in Basel — tickers, displays and clocks. Formulor cuts the acrylic parts.
VEEB publishes its projects in the open: on YouTube, on GitHub, in a small shop of their own — such as the TickerXL, a retro ticker display. Many of the devices live in grey acrylic housings whose parts have been made at Formulor in recurring batches since 2021 (3 mm, P1 and P2 formats).
The logo came from the laser too: a tinted acrylic disc with a finely engraved bee and a white "V" inlaid flush — VEEB, pronounced "vee-bee". Martin sent us the photo in 2022 with the words: "Here is a photo of your excellent work. Please feel free to use it however you wish."
Batch production for small series is exactly what the laser is built for: identical parts, reordered at short notice, with no tooling costs.
