What 2 mm is good for
2 mm acrylic is light and flexes a little. It works as picture frame glazing, as a protective pane in front of displays and pictures, or for fine model-making parts. For free-standing or larger surfaces it is too flexible – from about A4 upwards, choose 3 mm instead.

Can I use 2 mm acrylic as picture glass?
Yes, that's the classic use. It is lighter and more shatter-resistant than glass; choose clear acrylic for it.
How large can a cut piece be?
Up to 780 × 374 mm in one piece. If the material is in stock in the large workshop format, up to 890 × 440 mm is possible – the calculator tells you. At least 20 mm; you split larger areas into tiles in the Modeller.
Which thicknesses are available?
From 0.5 to 8 mm, depending on type and colour. The material picker in the calculator shows which thicknesses a colour comes in.
What does the cut edge look like?
Glossy and clear. The laser melts the edge smooth while cutting – no polishing needed.
How accurate is the cut?
The contour matches the dimensions you enter; we compensate for the laser's cutting width. The sheet thickness has the manufacturer's tolerance.

- Thickness tolerance in acrylicWhy 3 mm acrylic may be anywhere between 2.3 and 3.7 mm thick, what makes extruded XT more accurate and when precision acrylic at ±0.1 mm is worth it.
