Good to know

Description

The translucent silicone sheet serves industry as gasket and underlay material. At the same time, this very tear-resistant, stretchy material is great for bags, covers, wall cladding and lamps — silicone withstands high temperatures.

Processing

Soft silicone cuts superbly by hand with a craft knife or scissors. It barely glues — join it by riveting, screwing or sewing instead.

Good to know

Silicone is only conditionally suitable for engraving: the heat burns the material, especially with heavy raster engravings — the engraving demo above shows the effect.

Bridges

For small parts under 15 × 15 mm, plan small bridges: interrupt the cut contour by at least 0.5–0.8 mm. All parts then stay safely in the sheet until they reach you — push them out by hand or free them carefully with a craft knife.
